Since its renovation and reopening the Museum with its 6.000 sq. mt. of exhibition space has been such a success and now boasts several million visitors every year.
The new halls host 750 works of art designed for the main important religious monuments of Florence by the best masters of the Middle Ages and of the Renaissance, among them a Pietà by Michelangelo, the fantastic doors of the baptistery, the original model in wood of the big Dome by Brunelleschi, and a reconstruction of the original façade of the Cathedral, just to mention a few highlights of this museum.
