The Uffizi Gallery is not simply one of the most important museums in Europe.
It was one of the first museums in the world and it hosted a private collection of one of the richest families in Europe, the Medicis. Kings, Queens, diplomats and politicians of all the centuries visited this Gallery and were fascinated by its statues and paintings. The building itself is astonishing. Queen Charlotte of the United Kingdom in 1772 commissioned from a very important artist a famous painting to see the fantastic private hall of the Grand Duke called the Tribune. The gallery was built in the heart of the city and from here the views are superlative. Not to mention the outstanding collections of ancient marbles and paintings famous all over the world. Florence was the cradle of the Renaissance and here you can admire the beautiful paintings by Sandro Botticelli, Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and Raphael.
